You see the term family eye care a lot, but what does it actually mean. Family encompasses several generations from infants and toddlers to great-grandparents and all those in-between stuck in the middle. Eyecare is more than just vision and how well you see but involves maintaining the health of the body and the eye. So family eye care is multi-generational vision and health. Not all eye doctors have the equipment needed or the specialization or even the desire to accommodate the needs of such a vast diversity of ages, cooperation ability, temperament or aptitude of certain segments within the “family”.
Family Eye Care
I have taken my kids to doctors, and I have spent some time in a veteran’s hospital setting, and I have experienced and witnessed doctors who had absolutely no patience with their patients. Yelling at an older veteran because he didn’t understand the instructions of the doctor and other doctors just losing their cool dealing with a young child, makes for a poor experience. We are all human and all experience bad days, but there is an expected level of professionalism. Part of our duty as medical professionals is to establish a rapport with our patients and trust, part of that is being understanding. Doc is one of my favorite British shows mostly because of his personality and “bedside manner”. If you have seen the show or have experienced these kinds of episodes in real life you know exactly what I mean.
At the BA Eye Site in Broken Arrow and Tulsa, we are a total family eye care office. With a wheelchair lane, testing equipment for infants and toddlers, an optical dispensary that has “all kinds for all kind” and sizes and a patient caring staff, we want to be your “family eye care eye doc”. We take most insurance like Medicaid, BSBC and Aetna and most vision plans like VSP, Eyemed and OptumHealth. Located close to Cedar Ridge, Indian Springs and Forrest Ridge, we are conveniently located with easy access. We do care and will treat you the way you should be treated as a very important person. Having compassion and empathy for our patients is the standard operating procedure here at BA Eye Site.
